Early Thursday morning, a semi truck crashed in Cedar Rapids. Around 1:25am, the truck broke through the guardrail of northbound I-380 and the wreckage burst into flame.

When police responded to the scene, they found the fire burning on the highway and had to bring fire crews in. After it was put out, one person was found in the cab of the truck. Police are still investigating and have not released the identity of the victim.

On Saturday evening, a golf cart accident occurred at Holiday Lake near Brooklyn. There were four people riding in the golf cart when it rolled over. Details about the crash were not reported.

One  14 year old boy was killed in the crash. There was no report on whether or not the other three passengers were injured in the crash. Police investigated the cause of the accident.

On Tuesday afternoon, a woman pulling into a KFC parking lot in Iowa City hit the gas instead of the brake, crashing the car through the wall of the Highway 1 West location.

When the car went through the wall, a table was thrown into a boy in the restaurant. He was taken to a hospital after the 1:36pm crash. He sustained only minor injuries in the accident.

An electrical contractor was found unconscious at the John Deere foundry in Waterloo on Tuesday. He was taken to a hospital in the area and was later pronounced dead there.

The cause of death is currently unknown. An autopsy has been scheduled. A spokesperson for John Deere would not comment on the situation beyond saying that the man did not work for the company and that authorities would have full cooperation in the investigation.
