According to authorities, three people were injured in a rollover crash Monday morning near Shellsburg.
The accident occurred on 32nd Avenue around 8:15 AM when the 55-year-old driver of an SUV lost control near 61st Street Lane, striking a northbound pickup driven by a 63-year-old man. Police believe the cause behind the accident was that the SUV driver overcorrected when she went off the side of the road.
The pickup truck rolled over several times and emergency personnel had to cut the roof off to free the 63-year-old man and his 62-year-old passenger. The 55-year-old woman driving the SUV was also injured.
Injuries were not considered life-threatening, and the three injured parties were taken to Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.
The wreck remains under investigation.
