Volkswagen recalls thousands of Jettas

by Administrator 21. September 2011 14:23

Protruding exhaust pipes have lead to several people complaining to Volkswagen of America after they inadvertently brushed against the pipes on new Jettas and suffered minor burns on their legs. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Volkswagen began an investigation and found that stainless steel exhaust pipe tips were installed on 2011-2012 Jettas after they were imported, causing the pipes to stick out farther than original factory-installed ones.

More than 30,000 Jetta sedans are affected by the recall. Volkswagen will begin the recall in November and will inspect and replace the exhaust pipes as needed, free of charge.
