Two motorcycles collide on highway

Two men riding with the San Marin Vintage Motorcycle Club collided earlier this morning as they were trying to avoid an accident.

The men, 45 and 57 years-old, and other riders were attempting to pass a truck carrying a horse trailer by crossing double yellow lines. Some passed safely, but as the two men were crossing, a truck began to approach head-on. As the men swerved to avoid the truck, they crashed into one another.

Both men were thrown from their bikes. The 45 year-old was hit by the truck and airlifted to the hospital. The other man suffered only minor injuries and was treated on the scene.

Death of Iowa motorcyclist shrouded in mystery

by Administrator 9. June 2011 11:48

Police officers in Muscatine are investigating the death of a 43-year-old man who died while he was out riding his motorcycle. The case is particularly troubling for officers because there were no witnesses to the accident.

According to reports, the man went for a ride on his motorcycle on County Road sometime Saturday afternoon. A friend of the man contacted police a while later to alert them that he hadn't heard from his friend and was worried. The friend later went looking for the man, and he found him in a ditch at the intersection of County Road and 61 on Sunday night. Police speculate that the man died on Saturday night.

Police officers are asking anyone who may have information about this accident to come forward.

Man Convicted for Killing Four Motorcyclists

by Administrator 23. February 2011 11:38

A man has plead guilty to killing four motorcyclists in a drunk-driving accident that happened six months ago. The man was over the legal drinking limit by four times, when he veered into traffic in the lane next to him. He hit four friends who were all riding their motrocycles together. All four motorcyclists suffered severe injuries and died shortly after.

While in court, the man showed sincere remorse and brought everyone to tears while recounting his shame and guilt for taking away four lives. Although he has not yet been sentenced, he accepted a plea bargain, which may lower his sentence from 100 years in prison to 50. The families of the four motorcyclists have also filed civil lawsuits against the driver, but they have not yet gone to court.

Our thoughts are with all those involved in this horrible tragedy.
