A woman from Waterloo was recently arrested and charged with hitting a 1-year-old baby in a stroller with her vehicle.
The accident occurred at 8:15 p.m. on Baltimore Street. A 22-year-old woman had gotten into a verbal argument with a group of people that were standing on the sidewalk. Following the argument, the woman got into her vehicle and intentionally drove over the curb of the sidewalk in an attempt to hit the group of people. The woman ended up hitting a baby that was in a stroller on the sidewalk.
The baby was not injured but was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The woman turned herself in at the police station and was charged with reckless driving with the intention to cause harm and driving with a suspended license.
