A California woman has been awarded nearly $415,000 in her slip and fall lawsuit against Costco. In April 2009, the 58 year-old woman fell on liquid soap and shattered her knee cap.

According to her lawyer, Costco employees passed by the spilled soap but failed to follow protocol and clean it up. Moments later, his client fell and sustained injuries that will forever limit her mobility and function of her leg. The woman has under gone one surgery to wire her knee back together and more may be needed.

The jury awarded $90,000 to her past and future medical expenses and nearly $350,000 for her past and future pain and suffering.

A chiropractor from California was awarded $7.5 million by a San Diego Superior Court jury last week in his slip and fall lawsuit against Starbucks Coffee Co.

The man was in a Starbucks in 2008 when he slipped and fell on the wet tile floor a store manager had just mopped. He suffered a head injury and complications have prevented him from returning to work. The jury found Starbucks Coffee Co. negligent in maintaining its property.

$1 million of the verdict money will go towards the man's wife for loss of consortium and the rest will compensatoin the man for medical expenses, lost income, and loss of enjoyment of life.

A Minnestoa third grade teacher has filed a lawsuit against the school district where she teaches after she allegedly suffered permanent and severe injuries when she slipped and fell on a patch of ice. The woman was taking her child to day care when she fell in the school parking lot.

She is seeking $50,000 for past and future medical expenses as well as past and future emotional stress. The lawsuit claims the school district was negligent for allowing an unsafe condition to exist on the premises.

A married man and woman from Beaumont, Texas recently filed a lawsuit against Wal-Mart and McDonald's after the woman slipped and fell on a wet floor at the store.

According to the lawsuit, the woman was shopping at the Wal-Mart in March. She went to get a drink at a McDonald's that was located in the store. While doing so, she slipped on the floor that had just been mopped and was still wet. The lawsuit alleges that there were no signs posted to caution customers about the wet floor.

The woman and her husband are suing for past and future medical expenses, pain, impairment, lost wages, and loss of consortium.

A woman from Louisiana is suing Kmart for $900,000 after she suffered injuries while falling on the store's slippery floor in September of last year.

The lawsuit claims that the woman was shopping at the Mandeville location, when she slipped on a water spill that was located between two checkout areas. The lawsuit further states that the spill was in full view of two Kmart employees, both of whom neglected to clean the water.

The case will be decided upon by a jury. The money that the woman is seeking would pay for medical expenses and lost wages.
