Boone County authorities report that one teenager has died and another has been injured in an all-terrain vehicle crash today. 

The accident occurred on U.S. Route 30 outside of Ames when the driver of the ATV lost control and drove over a 14-foot drop-off. The driver flew off of the ATV, which then landed on top of him. His passenger fell off of the back, sustaining non-life threatening injuries. He was able to call 911.

Both boys were 17-years-old.
