In a new study published by researchers at Dartmouth College, high levels of arsenic was found in some brands of organic baby formulas.

Arsenic is a carcinogen that could cause cancer and heart disease. For infants, high exposure to arsenic could lower their intellectual functions and lower their IQs. The source of the arsenic is organic brown rice syrup, a sweetener often used as a substitute for high fructose corn syrup.

Other foods that contained high levels of arsenic that researchers tested included cereal bars and energy shot drinks.
