E. Coli Contamination Causes Ground Beef Recall

by Administrator 15. March 2011 09:31

Over 14,000 pounds of ground beef has been recalled after the bacteria, E. coli, was found to be contaminating the meat. The meat was produced by Creekside Farms, a company located in Arkansas.

The meat was shipped to several states, including Iowa, on February 22nd. The E. coli was found shortly after this date in Kansas, and a recall was immediately issued. There have been no reports of illnesses caused by the contaminated beef.

E. coli is a bacteria that can cause food poisoning. While food poisoning is not always life-threatening, it can cause severe diarrhea, organ failure, and, in extreme circumstances, death.

If you or someone you love has suffered an illness due to a toxic food product, please contact the Cedar Rapids contaminated food product lawyers of the Pete Leehey Law Firm, P.C., at 319-294-4424.
