A 49-year-old Fayette man was injured last week when his snowmobile struck a cow.

According to the Fayette Country sheriff's office, the man was operating his snowmobile over a trail near the town of Castalia when he collided with a cow that had walked onto the trail. The man was taken to the hospital that night for treatment of his injuries. The sherrif's office had no information about the condition of the cow or who the cow belonged to.
