Man killed in Fort Madison train accident

by Administrator 7. July 2011 14:35

A 25-year-old man was killed in Fort Madison after he was hit by an Amtrak train on Sunday afternoon.

The man was with two friends at Riverview Park when they all attempted to beat the train by running across the tracks in front of it. The man's two friends were able to cross the tracks before the train came, however, the man fell on the tracks and was run over by the train.

The train dragged the man for several feet before coming to a stop, and he died at the scene of the accident.

Our thoughts and sympathies are with the friends and family of the man who died in this accident.
